Meet information
Tomorrow is the big day!!
We DO have practice tomorrow morning.
The meet is at Eastmont Cove in Snellville. The pool is located at: 3421 Eastpines Way, Snellville, GA 30039. We ask all swimmers to arrive by 5:20pm. The meet begins at 6pm.
Eastmont Cove has sent us the following message to relay to our team:
You will have the far side of the pool in the shade. Staging will be behind you near the deep end of the pool. Parking on one side of the street only. Signs will be posted. There is absolutely no parking on Parkwood Road. Parking is limited in the parking lot. We will have concessions which will include pizza, bbq sandwiches, baked potatoes, hotdogs, nachos, drinks, chips and candy. Price range is .50 to $4.00. Heat sheets will be available for $1. Our make up day is Friday.
Volunteers: We have almost filled all of the positions. We currently have 3 slots for stroke and turn judges open. (2 for 1st half and 1 for second.) I (Kari) can take at least one slot and possibly both halves if I have someone who can relieve me if I am needed by the opposing team for council "duties". Stroke and Turn Judges please remember you are supposed to wear white shirts and blue shorts.
Additional helper needed: I'm also looking for a veteran parent who can help me during team arrival. I'd like to set up a "check-in" spot so we can hand out team shirts for those who have not been at practice and make sure our volunteers know when and where they are to report.
Middle/High Schoolers: please ask your seasoned swimmers to volunteer to help a new family figure out the heat sheet and mark their swimmers. They can find a lead volunteer in neon yellow to offer assistance.
Bubble/Guppy Heat: Unfortunately Eastmont does not offer the coach assisted swim heats. Therefore only swimmers who are entered into the meet and capable of swimming unassisted are able to participate tomorrow. I believe the swimmers who were in question have been spoken with BUT if you are in doubt, message me and we will clear it up.
New Parents: Besides myself, I will have 3 other lead volunteers in neon yellow team shirts tomorrow. They can help point you in the direction of where you need to go and match you up with an older swimmer to help with heat sheets.
Swimmers: All swimmers are to stay in the bullpen during the meet. There will be a call board displaying the event number currently being lined up. It is not the duty of the bullpen volunteers to find swimmers if they are on the pool deck in the spectator area.
RELAYS: Coach Scott enters names for the relays based off the information he has when he made the line up this past weekend. However, we often end up changing the relays due to absences or other issues. Each swimmer can swim up to 3 individual races and 2 relays. If your child does not appear to be entered into a relay, please have them confirm before leaving the pool. (They should ask Coach Abby or Coach Alex.) Once your child is done swimming their races you may leave, unless you are still fulfilling your volunteer duty.
What to bring: Sharpie and highlighters are good to mark your swimmer and your heat sheet. An extra towel or two is also a good idea (even if its in the car for later). Check the weather forecast, sometimes it gets a little chilly when the sun goes down. Parents bring a chair for yourselves.
LET's GO WAVERUNNERS!!
