Lots of Info; Meet #2
Hello Waverunners!
I’m including LOTS of pertinent information below, please take a few minutes to read.
Meet #1 is in the books! I hope our new parents have recovered from the chaos! Thank you to ALL of our volunteers!
I promise that, typically, each week gets easier. While rain delays are unfortunate, due to the schedule of our season we make every effort to stick it out and swim the meet on the scheduled night. Rescheduling usually results in a large number of absences of both swimmers and volunteers. It also requires many man hours to set up the pool and concession stand (plus the cost of lost food.)
MEET #2 RSVP: Our meet next week is at HOME! Those who have not RSVP’d yet will receive a follow up reminder email. It takes Coach Scott many hours to piece together the events and fill all of the slots. Please help make his job a little bit easier by getting your replies in timely. The website will lock out replies tonight. Don’t miss future deadlines by RSVPing for the entire season now. We will offer a bubble heat so let us know if your think your non-swimmers will want to participate! Coach assisted swims will take place at 5:50 immediately before the meet begins. Depending on the amount of kids we have, we may need a few high school volunteers to help assist.
Team Pictures: There will be no practice on Tuesday, June 5th. Team pictures will be at 9am, with individual pictures to follow. Please wear your team suit if you have one. Order information will be given that day. Lessons will be as scheduled at 10:30am
Concession Stand Donations: We are asking families to please donate drinks for our concession stand. This is 1 major way we have kept registration prices down. Please bring your assigned drink to the shed by WEDNESDAY this week. (Does not apply to lesson only families) If you are out of town this week, please bring before our next home meet (June 28.) Please bring the name brand product requested as it makes life much easier on our concession stand workers. Donation requests are per family, not per swimmer

Position Available: MEET STARTER The meet starter sets the tone and pace of the meet. They announce the race and sound the start signal. (Home Meets Only) Mike Stagl does a GREAT job at helping our meets run smoothly. We would like to find someone to work with him this year as an “apprentice”. It would be great for next season, to have someone partner with him to help split the meet or serve as a backup. There are training classes in the spring by the league. For this season, if someone is interested, they could assist Mike and check out the position before committing.
Team Management: We are always looking for the next generation of team administrators. If you are interested in assisting with team administration, please speak to Kari. Many hands make light work!
Private Lessons: Coach Abby teaches private lessons for swimmers of all abilities. Advanced swimmers can receive individual stroke attention while novice swimmers can gain confidence work on becoming proficient in the water. Her flyer with contact information is attached. Please feel free to share with those who may be interested.
