Week 2 Top 100 County Times
Waverunners!
Now that all teams have finalized their week 2 meets, we have access to the Top 100 individual and relay times! Our Waverunners faired very well over the last two weeks, and have a lot of representation on these lists! I am attaching an excel spreadsheet so that our swimmers can easily be found on these long lists. Results can also be found on the GCSL website: https://www.gwinnettswimleague.com/2022-results
County Qualification
While it is still a ways off, I've had some questions regarding how swimmers can qualify for county. There are two ways:
Individual Events: Swimmers who qualify in the TOP 50 of an individual event can compete at the county championship meet in July. Swimmers can swim in up to 3 individual events at county. It is important to keep an eye on the Top 100 list because many swimmers either qualify for multiple events and do not swim them all or they are out of town for the meet and therefore those swimmers next in line are now eligible to compete.
Relays: Each team gets to have a medley and freestyle relay at county for each age group. The relays are pulled from the swimmer's best individual times in those events. If those who have the top times cannot go to the county meet, the next in line is then asked to join their team.
I am opening up County Meet RSVPs so we can see who will be available that weekend. Even if your swimmer is not in the top 100, please let us know whether you will be in town or not those days so we can have a good list by the time we have to report our attendees.
Please make sure to congratulate our Waverunners that are in the top 100. It is a big deal in a league this big! Let's keep working hard and having fun Waverunners!
