Meet #3 Info - CP hosts WAT
Waverunners,
I am attaching the heat sheet and the email from Cooper's Pond to us with lots of useful information regarding their pool. Please find that email below my comments.
- The playground and lake are off-limits. We have been asked to make sure all swimmers, siblings, and spectators stay within the pool deck. They rope off the playground especially to keep swimmers focused and not have to go chase down swimmers as their events come up.
- Please make sure to bring adequate hydration and snacks. While Cooper's Pond does offer a concession stand, we want to make sure we are all good to go
- As with our previous away meet, be aware of the limited space on deck. We want as much support as possible for our swimmers, but we do need to try and limit our guests to their pool to just immediate family and swimmers
- I would advise arriving around 4:45 to be ready for warm-ups by 5 to see how their warm-up schedule goes. Parking close is limited so please be aware of that
- Let's go have fun as a team! Our goal is to always improve and make sure our swimmers are having fun! So much of that comes from the great team-first and family atmosphere that Coach Jenna has built over the past three years. While we are competitive and like winning, we do not want to put others down by being negative toward other swimmers, the other team, or having bad sportsmanship.
Email from Cooper's Pond:
Our pool is located at 97 Coopers Pond Drive, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30044. For those that have never been to our pool, we have extremely limited parking at the clubhouse, therefore the neighborhood streets must be utilized. Clubhouse parking is restricted to actual parking spots, i.e., between white lines. If you could please instruct your parents to park on the right hand side of Cooper’s Pond Drive (as you enter from Hutchins Road), we would be most grateful. We must only have parking on one side of the street or emergency vehicles will not be able to get through. We will post no parking signs as a reminder. Also be mindful that there are two entrances to our neighborhood, and there is pool access from both of these entrances. Pool access from the Arnold Road entrance is located off Kenswick Circle.
As the visiting team, your parents are given the near side of the pool closest to the clubhouse for spectator seating. There are no chairs provided. Your swimmers will have the area on the pool deck to the far right (by the shallow end of the pool).
Our world-famous Quack Cafe will be open serving hot food, drinks, and candy for the kids. A menu is included in the heat sheets. For y’all’s head coach, assistant coaches, and Council Rep, dinner is on us. Just tell them who you are and that Jody Campbell approved it.
Speaking of heat sheets, Coopers Pond does not sell heat sheets at our meets. Rather we simply email them to you and your parents ahead of time, so you can print them at home. The heat sheets have also been published on the Swimtopia App, so your parents have access to them at all times on their phones. We will of course provide your council members and coaches with copies required by the league, but there won’t be any extra for the parents so please encourage your parents to save the heat sheets on their phones or tablets or bring their own printed copies.
Cooper’s Pond is a laid-back group that emphasizes fun and family above all else at our meets. We are planning on having bubble heats for a few of our swimmers, and if you have swimmers you would like to do a coach-assisted swim, we are happy to make that happen. Bubble heats will take place at 5:50pm SHARP.
Thank you Waverunners, see you at the pool!
