REMINDER FOR OUR TEAM MEETING! We will be at the clubhouse at the Waterton Community Pool from 7-8 PM tomorrow. This is your chance to pick up a one page “fridge” handout for swim season, say hi, ask questions, and get fitted for our team suit (optional and covered below). The address is in the old info under team meeting.

We still need stroke and turn judges! Jamie Sanford sent out an email regarding this prior to spring break, he will send out one more this weekend and we are hoping to have AT LEAST 12 judges, if not more!

SwimTopia and communication:

Our team site, www.watertonwaverunners.com will be home base for all information, dates, results, and RSVP information! Make sure to have the SwimTopia downloaded on your phones as well, as I will send out notification reminders from time to time. The login is the same you created when you registered. If you forgot it, simply use the email you used at registration.

Additionally, you will receive emails from me, Jenna De La Peña, Courtney Kuhl, Mary Beth Durham, Jamie Sanford, Tiffany Harper, Janet Jensen and Becky Beckman. These are individuals that are in charge of various parts of our swim team and are awesome at what they do to keep us organized and having fun!

Our team expectation is that items sent via email and posted on the website are known by our families, and we have always been amazing at keeping up. If you have a question, simply email me.

Team Meeting:

We will have our pre-season team meeting on Thursday, April 11th at 7 PM. This will be held at our pool, the Waterton Community Pool and clubhouse. We will have Reddiset, our team outfitter, there to allow those who want to purchase a team swim suit (not mandatory) to try them on and we will go over team expectations and such at that time. We will also outline where volunteer positions serve on the pool deck, and allow you to meet some of our coaches and head volunteers

We have moved this meeting over the years around to different times and days to try and accommodate everyone’s busy schedules, so we expect every family to have at least one person there to come by and check in, if not to try on a team suit.

Volunteers:

I realize that the waiver for volunteering at registration said that every family was responsible for having a volunteer at each swim meet that they had an active swimmer in

I wanted to clarify this point:

There are 5 meets, approximately 50 volunteer slots per meet. and 75 families. This divides up to approximately 3 shifts per family. So we make sure that everyone agrees to having a volunteer at every meet that you have an active swimmer at, but the minimum is 3 shifts served per family

I will post sign ups for each swim meet’s volunteer slots once our schedule is set. I attaching a volunteer position breakdown for my new families to go over below in our team manual:

Meets:

We do not have the set schedule for meets as far as home/away meets or opponents, but once we do I will post it on SwimTopia. The dates are correct on our site for when the meets will be, and all 5 meets will be on Thursday evenings. I’ll send out more info as we get closer to the season and present it at our parent meeting as well:

Practices:

I made a slight mistake saying that practices start on 05/06, the league is opening up on 05/13! This change has been made on our SwimTopia calendar.

• Monday-Thursday PM practices for 05/13-05/16, 05/20-05/21 (we are off 05/22 for last day of school in GCPS):
  • 15 & Up: 3-4 PM
  • 8 & Under: 4-4:30 PM
  • 9-10: 4:30-5:15 PM
  • 11-12: 5:15-6 PM
  • 13-14: 6-7 PM
• Monday-Thursday AM practice from 05/23-06/27 (off on 05/27 for Memorial Day)
  • 15 & Up: 7:15-8:15 AM
  • 13-14: 8:15-9:15 AM
  • 11-12: 9:15-10:15 AM
  • 9-10: 10:15-11 AM
  • 7-8: 11-11:30 AM
  • 6 & Under: 11:30 AM-12:00 PM
• Friday Stroke Clinics & Donuts With Coach for Ribbon Pick-Up. •

Stroke clinics will be with our assistant coaches 10-11 AM by RSVP, with donuts with Coach & ribbon pick up from 11-11:45 AM. Coach Jenna will be in the clubhouse to hand you your ribbons from the meet the night prior, and then our swimmers, that must be accompanied by an adult, can swim until 11:45 AM for fun.
